HaPenny Bridge - Cabernet Merlot 2011

The Ha’penny Bridge is the best known of Dublin’s bridges. It was built in 1816 and was the first iron bridge in Ireland. It was originally named the Liffey Bridge but is now called the Ha’penny because until 1919 to cross it there was a half-penny charge.
Accepted as the symbol of Dublin, the Ha’penny Bridge was opened in 1816 and today it is best known as the gateway to Temple Bar where many a glass of fine Australian wine has been enjoyed.
The bouquet is fragrant and filled with ripe fruit, it is supported by an elegant medium bodied palate with a superb mouth feel and flavours of cassis and redcurrant fruit. All of this supported by ripe tannins and great length. The Grape varieties have been chosen to create an elegant wine which will complement most meat and pasta dishes perfectly.
